桂林理工大学成立于1956年，位于世界著名的风景旅游城市—广西桂林，是一所历史悠久的国立高等学校。学校是一所以工学为主，理、管、文、经、法、艺、农8大学科门类，研究生教育、本科生教育、高等职业教育和成人教育协调发展的多科性高等学校。
学校现有桂林屏风、桂林雁山、南宁安吉、南宁空港四个校区，校园总面积3300余亩。学校下设19个学院，有69个本科招生专业，37个硕士学位授权点，3个博士后科研流动站，6个博士学位授权点。材料科学、化学、工程学、环境生态学、地球科学5个学科进入ESI世界学科排名前1%。15个专业通过工程教育专业认证（评估），2个专业通过联合国旅游学院旅游教育质量国际认证（TedQual）。在职教职员工3300余人，各类全日制在校生47000余人。
学校坚持开放办学，以推进国际交流与教育合作，提升国际影响力和竞争力为目标，积极构建全方位、多层次、多形式的对外交流与合作体系。学校先后与美国、英国、澳大利亚、日本、俄罗斯、马来西亚、越南等30多个国家的100多所高校建立了友好合作关系，与其中50余所高校签订了学术交流、人才培养与科研合作协议。来华留学生教育工作稳步开展，至今已培养了来自60多个国家的各类留学生6600余人。
Guilin University of Technology (GUT), founded in 1956, is a long-established public university situated in the world-famous scenic city of Guilin in Guangxi Province. The educationofinternationalstudentshas developed steadily, and so far GUT has cultivated over6,600 students from more than 60 countries.
